RMS Queen Mary is a retired ocean liner that sailed primarily in the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line. The ship now serves as a tourist attraction featuring restaurants, a museum, and hotel. The ship is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
In the background, the Queen Mary Dome can be seen. Formerly the warehouse for Howard Hughes' folly of air travel, The Spruce Goose, as well as the majestic ship the Queen Mary, the Dome was used to serve as a movie set and played home to a variety of community & recreational events. The dome, at 115 feet high and 400 feet wide, is an eyecatcher. It is the world's largest, free-span aluminum geodesic structure and was specifically designed to house the Spruce Goose. The dome is now used by Carnival Cruise Lines as a ship terminal.
